Jones Updates Injury Status of Two Key Players

Jauan Jennings-1

Butch Jones expects a pair of players who have been limited in fall camp to play in the season opener in nine days against Appalachian State.

Linebacker Jalen Reeves-Maybin (shoulder) and receiver Jauan Jennings, who have both worn green, non-contact uniforms when they’ve been at practice this fall camp, are expected to play, Jones confirmed.

Jones said Reeves-Maybin should be “100%” and said he “anticipates” Jennings being ready to go against Appalachian State.

Defensive tackle Shy Tuttle is “on schedule” according to Jones. Jones said he doesn’t know if he’ll be game ready in terms of playing a high number of snaps, but emphasized that he still has time to get there.

Safety/kick returner Evan Berry returned to practice on Monday in a normal jersey, meaning he’s likely ready to go. Defensive end Austin Smith, receiver Brandon Johnson and running back Carlin Fils-Aime have also been practicing in green, non-contact uniforms.
