Vols Land Pair On ESPN All-SEC Preseason Team

Jalen Reeves Maybin-1

A pair of Vol defenders landed on ESPN’s Preseason All-SEC Team, which was released on Monday.

Linebacker Jalen Reeves-Maybin and defensive lineman Derek Barnett received honors on the first and only team, matching their first-team honors they received from the league’s media members in July.

No other Vol is listed as Jalen Tabor from Florida and Tre’Davious White from LSU got the nod as first-team cornerbacks over Cam Sutton, who was the first-teamer on the media squad.

Chad Kelly of Ole Miss is the first-team quarterback over Joshua Dobbs, while Leonard Founette (LSU) and Nick Chubb (Georgia) were the first-team running backs over Jalen Hurd. No kick or punt returners were selected, leaving Sutton and Evan Berry out in that capacity, while Texas A&M’s Christian Kirk was named the “all-purpose” player.
