9. UT’s defense vs. Virginia Tech QB Jerod Evans
There’s some speculation here because it isn’t even 100% clear if Evans will win the job for Virginia Tech as he battles Brenden Motley in camp. But Evans, who was a junior college star last year, brings the most potential, and is the player that UT should probably fear more. He has huge upside. And after some relatively unknown quarterbacks did damage against UT early in the season last year, Bob Shoop and the UT defense need to be ready to limit Evans in the Battle at Bristol.
