All offseason, Florida cornerback Jalen Tabor has thrown trash talk towards the Vols. Whether it was via his own Twitter handle or through fans asking him questions, Tabor has done nothing but talk about Florida’s winning streak over Tennessee.
And that didn’t change on Thursday afternoon.
Tabor hopped on Paul Finebaum’s show on The SEC Network on Thursday afternoon, and inevitably the topic of the Tennessee game came up. Here’s what Tabor had to say about the Gators’ 11-game winning streak over the Vols:
“It’s been the same thing happening for 11 years. The greatest indication of the future is the past” – @_31Flavorz
on #UFvsUT— Paul Finebaum (@finebaum) August 11, 2016
“It’s really all you guys (the media) picking Tennessee to win the East…I know I’m just a player but I really don’t see it” – @_31Flavorz

“Tennessee has come close 2 years in a row but close only works in horseshoes” – @_31Flavorz

As you can see, Tabor firmly believes the Gators will, once again, beat the Vols in 2016 as they have many times before. He also doesn’t believe the Vols should be the favorites to win the SEC East.
The Vols don’t need any more bulletin board material to motivate them for the Florida game. But Tabor just keeps giving them comment after comment to fuel them. And all this from a player who missed last year’s game due to a violation of team rules.
One thing is for certain: This year’s match-up between the Vols and Gators may be the most hyped contest since the 1990s. And comments like these are only adding to that hype.
