2013 starter: Brendan Downs (Jr.)
2016 backup: Jason Croom (RS Sr.)

Who has the edge: Downs, who battled injury his entire career, was a gritty blocker and competitor. Croom, who also has been injury-prone, has a lot more big-play capability as he converts from receiver to tight end. All-in-all, Croom is the better option here.
