Could Tennessee’s second team in 2016 beat the 2013 Vol starters?
I realize this is a somewhat worthless hypothetical question, but I do think it plays into many discussions we’ve had on RTI Radio over the offseason and is actually a fairly compelling debate as well.
So I’ll break it down position-by-position in this post and then we’ll debate it further on RTI Radio (4-6 pm ET, 1180 AM in Knoxville and streaming on RockyTopInsider.com) this afternoon.
I am projecting the backups for the 2016 team – any player I don’t project as a Day 1 starter is fair game – and taking the starters for the 2013 team from the official depth chart for the season opener against Austin Peay that was posted on UTSports.com that year.
