Joshua Dobbs/Tee Martin
This is the comparison that got me thinking along these lines. We’ve discussed it on RTI Radio and written about it in more detail on the site. Tee Martin and Joshua Dobbs have remarkably similar stats across the board, with Dobbs actually holding an edge in most categories.
Here’s a look at both of their junior seasons:
Martin: 57.3% completion, 2,164 yards, 19 touchdowns, 6 interceptions; 287 rushing yards
Dobbs: 59.5% completion, 2,291 yards, 15 touchdowns, 5 interceptions; 671 rushing yards
Martin went on to have a street named after him. Dobbs is beloved by UT fans in his own way, but still has plenty of skeptics among the fanbase. Again, winning big makes all the difference.
