(Tied) 3. Austin Smith
When Austin Smith came in as a freshman last season, he was said to be a freak athlete. One year later and Smith has put on weight and converted to defensive end. However his role could be more of a hybrid/Sam linebacker similar to how Curt Maggitt was if he can play with his hand in the dirt. Considering how often Tennessee is likely to play with a nickelback, Smith isn’t likely to start. However he could definitely see plenty of playing time if he has an impressive camp.
