Tennessee got its fourth commitment since Tuesday on Thursday night when three-star receiver Jordan Murphy pledged to the Vols.

The 5-11, 185-pound Murphy of Hattiesburg, Miss., joins defensive linemen Breyon and Brandon Gaddy and C.J. Cotman in committing to the Vols this week. He is the third receiver for the Vols in the 2017 class, joining Jacquez Jones and Princeton Fant.

Murphy is a member of the Jackson Clarion-Ledger’s “Dandy Dozen,” a ranking of the best 12 players in the state of Mississippi.

“I think every time he touches it this year he has a chance to score,” Murphy’s high school coach Tony Vance told the C-L in an interview. “The change in speed was the one thing he was missing from last year. It’s a noticeable change. I think he’s going to be more explosive this year and that is the biggest addition to repertoire and that was what he needed to take his game to another level.”

Murphy is ranked as the No. 435 overall player in the nation and the 64th best receiver in the country, per the 247Sports Composite ranking. He is a three-star prospect on Scout.com and ESPN.com, while Rivals.com ranks him as a four-star.

He also holds offers from Alabama, LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State and others.
