Vols Get Commitment from RB with Huge Offer Sheet

Cotman

The Vols continued their hot streak in recruiting this week by picking up a commitment from a running back with a ridiculous offer sheet on Wednesday night.

Mere days after Tennessee landed the talented Gaddy twins in the 2017 class, running back C.J. Cotman pledged his services to the Vols via Twitter.

Cotman, a borderline three-star/four-star all-purpose running back, holds offers from nearly three dozen schools at this point in his recruitment. He chose the Vols over offers from Alabama, Florida State, Auburn, Oregon, Notre Dame, Florida, Michigan, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Miami, and a host of other schools.

Cotman plays in Clearwater, FL and has played all over the field for Clearwater Central Catholic. Last season alone, Cotman racked up 665 rushing yards and 12 scores, 593 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns, and recorded 69 tackles, two tackles for loss, three interceptions, and returned two of those picks for scores.

Dubbed as one of the fastest players in Florida, Cotman has a knack for making big plays and using his athleticism and speed to separate from defenders. At 5-foot-10, 175 pounds, he has the frame that can easily add more weight for the college game.

Cotman’s pledge gives the Vols 21 commitments in the 2017 recruiting class. He is the first true running back in the 2017 class for UT, though Louisiana ‘athlete’ Trey Coleman could get a look at running back as well.
