It can be tough to find help on the defensive line in college football. So finding a two-for-one deal on the d-line might be one of the best coups in recruiting.
That’s what Tennessee did on Tuesday afternoon, nabbing commitments from twin defensive linemen Brandon and Breyon Gaddy from Virginia Beach, Va.

Both have a good deal of upside, but they also have plenty of differentiation in their games. Breyon (6-4, 320) is ranked as a four-star and the No. 274 player in the nation, according to the 247Sports Composite ranking. He is more of a true interior player who takes up multiple blockers and provides push up the middle in pass-rush situations.
Brandon (6-5, 290) is ranked as a three-star and the No. 609 player in the nation. He brings a bit more versatility. Despite weighing in close to 300 pounds, he plays running back and tight end in high school, showing ridiculous athleticism for a man his size.

He projects to play on the defensive line in college, but he clearly can do a lot on the field. He’ll give the coaches options in terms of where he plays and how they use him in specialized packages.
Both chose the Vols over impressive individual offers lists with teams such as Clemson, Georgia and Florida State in pursuit of one, if not both, players.
The addition of the Gaddy twins continues the process of loading up the 2017 class on defensive linemen. They join fellow Virginia Beach resident and defensive tackle Eric Crosby, defensive end Tre Lawson and defensive tackle Kivon Bennett as the five d-linemen committed in the class that now stands at 20 total commitments.
