It was a tough weekend off the field for Alabama and Florida with a trio of players getting arrested in total from those two SEC schools.
Alabama offensive lineman Alphonse Taylor was arrested and charged with DUI on Sunday, according to the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Department’s website.
Taylor started every game for Alabama in 2015 and is a projected started heading into 2016.
Nick Saban has come under fire recently for his discipline process for off-the-field incidents, though he defended the decision to not suspend offensive lineman Cam Robinson or defensive back Hootie Jones at SEC Media Days because neither was ultimately charged with any crimes this offseason.
Florida had a pair of incoming freshman arrested over the weekend as well. According to the Orlando Sentinel: “UF first-year freshmen receiver Tyrie Cleveland and Rick Wells were arrested Sunday after being accused of firing BB guns and causing more than $1,000 in property damage at Keys Residential housing on the UF campus.”
