7. Lack of a passing game
Few question Tennessee’s potential to be one of the best running teams in the SEC, if not the nation. But can the entire passing game step up enough to compliment that rushing attack enough to help the Vols become elite?
Last year the answer was no. UT was ninth in the league in total passing yards and only completed 59.6 percent of its passes as a team. Those numbers aren’t awful, but UT needs a little bit better to reach the heights it hopes in 2016. A lot of that falls on quarterback Joshua Dobbs, but UT needs the offensive line and the receivers to step up too. Having one receiver (or tight end) put up 800+ receiving yards would go a long way in helping elevate the passing game to a championship level.
