Tennessee tight end Ethan Wolf has been named to the Mackey Award Watch List, a list that identifies the players to watch for the trophy which honors the most outstanding tight end in college football.

Wolf is a two-year stater for UT who had 23 catches for 301 yards in 2015 as a sophomore. He heads into his junior season in 2016 as the unquestioned starter at tight end with converted senior receiver Jason Croom set to back him up, along with a host of newcomers and walk-ons competing for playing time.

Mychal Rivera, now with the Oakland Raiders, was the last Vol tight end to make this watch list. Luke Stocker (2010) and Jason Witten (2002) were named semifinalists for the John Mackey Award during their time at Tennessee.

Other SEC players on the 45-player watch list include CJ Conrad (Kentucky), Jeb Blazevich (Georgia), Evan Engram (Ole Miss), DeAndre Goolsby (Florida), OJ Howard (Alabama), Jeremy Sprinkle (Arkansas).

The award recipient is selected by vote of the John Mackey Award Selection Committee and the 2016 Mackey Award recipient will be announced on December 7, 2016 and then presented live on December 8, 2016 at The Home Depot College Football Awards Red Carpet Show on ESPNU.
