10 Things That Could Slow the Vols in 2016

9. Jacob Eason’s emergence at Georgia

Georgia-1

The knock on Georgia this year is that there are no guarantees at the quarterback position. That could change in a hurry if Jacob Eason, one of the top recruits in the 2016 class and a player who showed some flashes in the spring, steps up and becomes the next star QB for the Bulldogs.

The odds of him having a great freshman season aren’t that high. Recent SEC history gives few examples of true freshman quarterbacks in the SEC that come in and take the league by storm. But even is he’s just decent, Georgia has plenty of pieces around him that could make life in the East tough on UT. There are certainly plenty of questions for UGA, but if they get a solid answer at QB, that could change the race in the East.
