2. Holloway Era Fauxbacks
The Holloway Era colored shoulder jersey throwbacks have always been a fan favorite. But since Condredge Holloway left Tennessee they’ve only been worn once, which is a shame. When they were brought back for the 2004 season, Tennessee had to get special permission to wear them, but not because there was orange on the shoulders, but because the orange was too far onto the chest of the jersey. So with today’s templates and styles it is absolutely legal to wear jerseys that have different colored shoulders, i.e. Vols Nike Smokey Gray, Michigan State, Missouri’s anthracite, etc. The Holloway Fauxback (retro jersey that isn’t an exact copy of the original, has contemporary elements on it) isn’t a full throwback. It has the modern Power T and modern number font. So it is an updated version of a classic look. And included is a home version of the fauxback as well that has white shoulders.
