 How He Fits

Jaquan Henderson has been used mostly as an outside linebacker at Newton, but he’s also lined up at defensive end and safety occasionally. It appears as though the Vols may want to give him a look at safety first much like they did Jalen Reeves-Maybin. But like Reeves-Maybin, it looks like Henderson’s highest cieling may be at linebacker.

Henderson shows good poise while tackling and very good awareness and pursuit. He has the body frame to add more weight if he wants to remain at linebacker, but if he moves to safety he should be fine adding a few more pounds or so. Either way, Henderson’s play-making ability on defense shouldn’t be underrated.
