If you’re in the mid-state area and are one of the best player on your team, chances are Butch Jones will take notice of you. And that’s the case with Gentry Bonds. The Vols have some competition for Bonds, but it appears as though they’re the favorites to land him if they want him.

How He Fits
Bonds has a nose for the ball, a talent that can’t be taught. If Riverdale needs a big play on defense, Bonds seems to be the one making it. He has good hands and great awareness in the defensive backfield, and he’s able to keep up with any receiver he faces in the mid-state area. He has good size and speed. His technique, like most high school corners, needs tightened, but that will come with collegiate coaching. Bonds appears underrated by most recruiting services at this point.
