10. Emory Jones

Advantage: Tennessee

He just finished his sophomore year, and 2018 quarterback Emory Jones has already seen a wild ride in terms of recruitment. The first thing you should know is that Ohio State seems to be the team to beat in this recruitment as of now. It was rumored that the elite dual-threat quarterback had a plan to commit to the Vols, until Urban Meyer offered. Jones has also mentioned that former Buckeyes QB Braxton Miller was his favorite quarterback growing up.

After a trio of visits to Ohio State, Clemson, Tennessee, he plans to make a decision sometime before the end of the summer. Vol commits Alontae Taylor and Cade Mays are both close with Jones and have given him another reason to consider the Vols. Don’t be surprised if he makes a choice in the Buckeyes’ favor within the next few weeks. But his signing day is not for over a year, and neither Butch Jones nor Clemson coach Dabo Swinney will likely back down on this one. If Tennessee can show that they are the “real deal”, there’s a very decent chance that Emory Jones wears Tennessee orange in the future, and becomes an excellent fit for the Vols’ offense.
