9. Malik Herring
Advantage: Neither
Georgia defensive lineman Malik Herring has been putting guys on their backs since early in his high school career. His ability to chase down athletes adds a skill that many big-bodied players lack. His recruitment has been far more open than others. Georgia and Clemson seem to have the edge, with Tennessee on the outside looking in. Alabama is still there, as well.
Herring recently visited campus for Orange Carpet Day, and seemed to put the Vols back on the radar after an exciting day of multiple commits, and what was an obviously a good visit. Recent Vol commit Maleik Gray clearly made Herring feel like a priority. That being said, Georgia maintains the edge, Clemson close behind, and Tennessee remains the dark horse.
