The Vols hauled in a flurry of commitments on Saturday during their Orange Carpet Day event, but Tennessee wasn’t done on the recruiting trail after the weekend. They started off the work week with yet another commitment.
Kivon Bennett, a fringe three-star/four-star defensive tackle, committed to the Vols on Monday. Bennett measures in at 6-foot-3, 265 pounds and hails from St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
After discussing everything with my family and those close to me, I have decided to commit to Tennessee. #EL17E pic.twitter.com/4GDXjNaqUn

Despite being just a three-star by most recruiting services, Bennett has a huge offer list. He chose the Vols over Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Arkansas, Georgia, LSU, and Miami just to name a few. He currently holds over two dozen offers.
Not only that, but the Vols stole away Bennett from the Crimson Tide.
Bennett is an Alabama legacy, as his father, Cornelius Bennett, played for the Tide in the mid-1980s and was the No. 2 overall pick in the 1987 NFL Draft. Cornelius was a five-time Pro Bowler in the NFL and won the AFC Defensive Player of the Year twice with the Buffalo Bills. He also won the SEC Player of the year in college in 1986.
If Kivon Bennett can live up to even a tenth of his dad’s collegiate career, he’ll have himself a solid college career too.
Bennett was Tennessee’s ninth commitment in 48 hours when he pledged to the Vols on Monday, joining eight new Vols that committed on Saturday. The Vols are now in the top 10 in just about every major recruiting service thanks to the massive influx of recruits.
