Tennessee picked up its second commitment of the day on Saturday when wide receiver Princeton Fant of LaVergne, Tenn., pledged to the Vols at Orange Carpet Day. He joins defensive end Tre Lawson who committed earlier on Saturday, along with high school teammate Maleik Gray, who committed to the Vols last Sunday, to give the Vols some mid-summer recruiting momentum.

Status
The Vols had been in a great spot with Fant for much of the spring and early summer, and then landed the talented midstate receiver at Orange Carpet Day on June 18. Offers from LSU, Miami and others will keep his recruitment interesting, but he’s likely to be all Vol until the end.

How He Fits
Fant has an impressive skill set for a wide receiver and is especially adept at making catches in traffic. Tennessee, at this point, has around 10 scholarship receivers scheduled to be back in 2017, but finding consistency has been a challenge. The offense could look fairly different in ’17 with Joshua Dobbs and several other key pieces gone, so the Vols are looking to stock up on talent receivers to give them options to shape their offense.
