Vols On Top For Virginia DL Twins

Tennessee got double the good news over the weekend when twin defensive linemen Breyon and Brandon Gaddy of Virginia Beach, Va., separately announced the Vols as their leader.

Behind Tennessee, the Gaddys have the same 2-5 of Clemson, Florida State, Georgia and USC. Brandon also listed Florida and Virginia Tech behind those five schools.

The Virginia Beach area could be a defensive line gold mine for the Vols in this class.

In addition to the Gaddys, the Vols already have a commitment from four-star defensive tackle Eric Crosby from the Virginia Beach area and they are in the top five for four-star Virginia Beach defensive end Jordan Williams as well.

Here are the RTI recruiting profiles for Brandon and Breyon Gaddy:

 How He Fits

Gaddy is one of the more intriguing prospects in the 2017 class. He’s a defensive lineman, but also lines up as a tailback and tight end on offense. And he’s not just one of those linemen they stick on offense to block – he handles the football extremely well at close to 290 pounds. Defensive line is his likely home in college, but his appearances as a skill player on offense simply go to demonstrate his rare athleticism for his size.

Status
Butch Jones and his staff have recruited Virginia more than previous coaching staffs have at Tennessee, so it should come as no surprise that they’re in good shape with Breyon Gaddy, who is the twin brother of defensive lineman Brandon Gaddy, who the Vols are in great shape with too. The massive defensive tackle has offers from all across the country, and he recently named Tennessee his leader ahead of Clemson, Florida State, Georgia and USC.

 How he fits

Not only is Breyon Gaddy humongous, but he has superb athleticism as well. His highlight film shows him catching a pass for a touchdown and returning a fumble for a score in two separate games.

Gaddy won’t be seen on offense if he comes to Tennessee, but athletic defensive tackles are hot commodities at any program. And he’s the type of defensive tackle Tennessee’s coaching staff rave over.
