Another Vols-Hurricanes match-up would be exciting enough as it is, but add in new Miami head coach Mark Richt to the mix, and this becomes an even more intriguing game.

These two teams have only met three times, but they’ve all been pretty memorable games. There’s the 1986 Sugar Bowl that is second only to the 1998 National Championship to most Vol fans, Miami’s crushing victory in 2002, and the stunning 10-6 Tennessee win in 2003. These two teams haven’t played since then, and both have had their fair share of rough times in the nearly decade and a half since.

But it’s not just the history of the two teams that would entice fans. Former Georgia head coach Mark Richt is now Miami’s head coach, and Vol fans love to hate on Richt. He may not be the most hated opposing head coach exactly, but Vol fans certainly don’t have love for Richt and love to poke fun at him. Taking him on again at another school would be the icing on top of an already delicious-looking match-up.
