Tennessee and Florida State have only met twice, but I bet you can remember the most recent of those two times.

The last time the Vols and Seminoles faced off was in the 1998 National Championship game, and the Vols came away the victor with a 23-16 triumph. Getting a rematch of a championship game is always a hyped game, so it’s a surprise the two haven’t been pitted against each other yet.

If the Vols want to play Florida State any time soon, they’ll likely have to do so in a high profile bowl game like the Sugar Bowl or in the playoff. Florida State is one of the most hated football programs around right now, so Vol fans would have no problem sinking their teeth into the Seminoles even if there wasn’t the added bit of history there.

Not to mention the fact that a fight between Vols and FSU Twitter would be extraordinary.

Give us this rematch now and both fan bases would be happy.
