Status
Bumphus Tennessee his leader in the spring and the Vols will continue to make him a priority as they always do with defensive linemen. Especially in-state ones. But there is still a lot of work to be done before Bumphus makes his final decision. Several high-profile programs have him scouted as a higher talent than his star-ratings, especially with his ability to also play tight end, and he will likely take his time to see what is out there for him before he commits.

 How He Fits

If Bumphus plans on playing tight end in college, he already has a great frame and incredible hands. And he has deceptive speed. He will just need to work on his blocking to be the complete package. Likewise if he plays defensive end, he will need to add a little bit of weight before he hits the field against SEC linemen. While his film suggests he could definitely be successful at either position, he might be best suited for tight end simply because of how athletic he is with the ball in his hands.
