The Vols will take on Kansas State in the 2017 SEC/Big 12 challenge in basketball, UT confirmed on Tuesday morning.
KSU will come to Thompson-Boling Arena on Saturday, Jan. 28, 201 with the time and TV info still TBD.
According to the release, other matchups for next season’s challenge are: Texas at Georgia, Baylor at Ole Miss, Kansas at Kentucky, Texas A&M at West Virginia, Florida at Oklahoma, Iowa State at Vanderbilt, Arkansas at Oklahoma State, Auburn at TCU and LSU at Texas Tech.
Tennessee defeated Kansas State as part of the SEC/Big 12 challenge in 2014 by a final of 65-64. Tennessee fell at TCU in the same event last season 75-63.
The full 2016-17 schedule hasn’t been released, though reports have said the Vols will open the season against Chattanooga, will play ETSU, Gonzaga (in Nashville) and at North Carolina among their non-conference foes.
