Opening lines for the upcoming 2016 NCAA football season are starting to come out, and it’s quickly becoming apparent that Las Vegas loves the Tennessee Vols.
Earlier this month, the betting site 5Dimes listed Tennessee’s over/under on wins at 10.5 total wins for the regular season. That total tied them with LSU for the highest over/under in the entire SEC, a whole win ahead of Alabama and Georgia.
Now, another Vegas betting site has high expectations for the Vols.
The Golden Nugget released their betting lines on win totals for the 2016 season, and the Vols have one of the highest totals of any team in the country. In fact, The Golden Nugget has them with the highest line in the entire SEC.
According to The Golden Nugget, the Vols’ line is 10 wins. Only Clemson, Oklahoma, and Florida State have that identical line. No other team has a higher line. Alabama, LSU, and Michigan are the next highest at 9.5, and Georgia is listed at 8.5 and Florida at 8.
Tennessee’s over/under in Vegas has slowly risen since Butch Jones has taken over as head coach. Now their lines are the highest they’ve been in nearly a decade.
Vegas has high hopes for the Vols, and so do Vol fans. Now if only the season could just get here already.
