Slaton, one of the top offensive linemen in the nation, put UT in his top five in an interview with ESPN in March of 2016, joining Clemson, Florida State, Michigan and Duke. His stock has done nothing but rise since that point as he’s earned five-star status from Scout.com and is ranked in the top 30 nationally in the 247Sports Composite Ranking. Slaton was high school teammates with UT signee Brandon Johnson, who is helping the Vols in this recruitment.

 How he fits 

Slaton, at 6-5 and over 350 pounds is also an impressive high school basketball player, which should tell you everything you need to know about his overall athleticism for his size. He has some limitations with his footwork because of his size, but he has all the tools to become a dominant guard or right tackle in major college football.
