Vols In Top 8 For In-State RB Prospect

Finding a running back is one of the top priorities in the 2017 recruiting class for the Vols, and in-state prospect Ty Chandler is near the top of the board at that position.

Tennessee got some good news on that front Saturday evening when Chandler put Tennessee in his top eight .

Chandler has visited UT a handful of times in the past couple years as he’s become one of the top targets in the 2017 cycle for the Vols. He put UT in his top eight in mid-May, joining USC, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Georgia, Florida, Auburn and Duke.

 How He Fits

It’s tough to envision a better replacement for Alvin Kamara than Chandler, who is absolutely dynamic with the ball in his hands. But like Kamara, he can also run between the tackles and do a lot of different things for an offense.

Pairing Chandler with a bigger back in the 2017 class would be a dream scenario for the Vols that would make them feel much better about the impending departures of Jalen Hurd and Kamara in the next year or two.
