Status
Lewis is heading into his first season as a full-time starter in high school in 2017 after playing behind a star QB last season, but he’s turned enough heads on the camp circuit that the Vols have shown some interest. He visited Knoxville for the Orange and White Game weekend and is a name to keep in mind as the Vols consider taking a QB in the 2017 class even though he doesn’t have an offer as of May.

 How He Fits

Lewis is definitely still in the evaluation stage for the Vols, but offensive coordinator Mike DeBord has shown a fair amount of interest. It’s difficult to call the Vols in great shape for any of their higher-ranked QBs in the 2017 cycle, so perhaps if Lewis has a good senior season, he could be a name that puts himself in position to be a take for the Vols later in the process if some others fall through.
