3. Open competition
While there aren’t a ton of wide open starting positions on this team, there will still be some players competing for jobs on Saturday. Drew Richmond is trying to make his claim for the starting left tackle position, while Brett Kendrick is working to solidify his job on the right side. Spots in the wide receiver rotation are up for grabs for anybody healthy enough to play on Saturday. And safety, especially, is an interesting position to watch with at least one spot wide open heading into the fall.
