It’s April. We’re still five months away from the Vols and Florida Gators facing off in Knoxville, but that’s not stopping one Florida player from taking shots at Tennessee.
Jalen Tabor, a sophomore defensive back for the Gators, took exception with the SEC Network putting out a tweet that picked the Vols to win the SEC East this season. He went on from there to trash not only the Vols, but the media and Vol legend Peyton Manning as well.

“They” picked UT to win the east the last 3 years

I feel sorry for “they”

Tabor is right about Peyton Manning never beating the Gators. But Tabor is incorrect in his assessment of the media hype around the Vols, however. Tennessee has not been picked to win the East the past three years. The Vols haven’t been picked to win the East at SEC Media Days since 2005 and were picked to finish second last season. Which they did.
If you’re having trouble remembering Tabor’s play against the Vols last season, that’s because he didn’t. He was suspended for the Tennessee game last year for refusing to take a drug test.
As long as Tabor can keep himself eligible this year, his comments will likely not be forgotten by the Vols taking the field that day. Fans certainly won’t forget.
