Will Wade, VCU
The Nashville native’s name was thrown around a bit during UT’s coaching search last year as he wrapped up an impressive year with Chattanooga. He eventually was hired to replace Shaka Smart at VCU, where he had previously been an assistant. Would Wade, after one season and an NCAA tournament appearance, be willing to jump back to his home state for this rare opening? It generally isn’t looked upon too well when somebody bolts after one season, but Wade, his “Havoc” system and his local ties make him a very intriguing option.
