3. Vols defeat Virginia 77-74 (2007; Round of 32)

The Vols reached historic levels, earning their first trip to the Sweet 16 since 2000 and just their second since 1981, when they knocked off Virginia in the Round of 32 in 2007. A year after getting bounced in the same round, Bruce Pearl and the Vols made a statement that they were ready to be considered a national power during this era. It wasn’t easy. An open 3-point look from Virginia’s Sean Singletary just missed the mark as time expired, giving the Vols a historic, but exhausting win over the Cavs.
