Thoughts: Malone, Smith, Jennings and Williams are the four the Vols likely feel pretty good about putting on the field at this point, though they need more consistency from all of them. Who makes up the rest of the rotation is anybody’s guess. Perry and George are on campus this spring and should get a boost from that. But with four newcomers arriving over the summer, the battle to be in the rotation should be heated.
Ethan Wolf is the unquestioned starter at tight end. Jason Croom, who will work at tight end this spring after several years at receiver, is the latest position transplant the coaching staff has brought over to try to solidify the depth there.
