5 Potential Breakout Players in 2016

4. WR Jeff George

The first newcomer to make the list, George is the No. 2 JUCO wide receiver in the class of 2016 according to Rivals. At 6-foot-6, George is the red-zone threat to replace Marquez North. George is a superb route runner, possessing the ability to get away from defenders before the ball is thrown. The redshirt junior has the agility to escape coverage and the size to overpower tacklers.

George could make the downfield passing game a lot easier on Joshua Dobbs. Tennessee lacked the ability to complete passes more than 20 yards downfield last season. Given George’s ability to run sharp routes, he can get separation downfield. If George can make a difference in the deep passing game, it will open up more passing lanes closer to the line of scrimmage as well. George resembles Justin Hunter in size and speed, and if he can begin his career like Hunter did, he will add a totally new dimension to the Tennessee offense.
