5. Passing game improvement
The run game won’t be much of a storyline this offseason because the Vols know what they have there. But the passing game needs to take at least a small step in 2016 to help elevate Tennessee to the next level. And the receiver rotation mentioned earlier will play a big role in that, but so will Joshua Dobbs and his continued maturation as a quarterback. He was the best running QB in the SEC in 2015. Now his passing accuracy, which was shaky at times in 2015, needs to take another step. The Vols don’t need to throw it all over the yard to be successful next season, but improved accuracy and more consistency overall in the passing game needs to be an offseason goal.
