Receivers/Tight Ends
Tennessee certainly accomplished its mission of restocking the depth at both wide receiver and tight end. The Vols brought in five receivers and a pair of tight ends – giving the passing game a potential jolt after a lackluster 2015 season. That’s the good news. The bad news is they did miss out on some top prospects such as Mecole Hardman and Kyle Davis at the WR position. Some of the struggles in UT’s passing game may have led to them looking elsewhere. They like the guys they got, however, and the late additions of Marquez Callaway and Latrell Williams gave them some extra speed and athleticism to go along with Brandon Johnson, Corey Henderson and junior college prospect Jeff George.
Austin Pope and Devante Brooks could be a strong, complimentary duo at tight end, especially if Brooks can stay healthy.
