Grades: Tennessee’s 2016 Signing Class

Kongbo

 Defensive Line

Quality isn’t a concern here. The Vols finished strong on National Signing Day by adding top junior-college prospect Jonathan Kongbo III, who could have an immediate impact at defensive end, and still has three years of eligibility remaining. Add in early enrollee Alexis Johnson, who was the No. 2 ranked junior college defensive tackle, and Tennessee got a pair of ready-to-play contributors on the defensive line. Because the Vols went heavy on the defensive line in 2015, they could afford to go a bit lighter this year. Still, only adding two, neither of which are four-year players, is a slight concern.
