Position-by-position grades for Tennessee’s 2016 signing class. All player ratings are from the 247Sports Composite, unless otherwise noted.
Secondary
Tennessee landed one of the better secondary hauls in the nation – bringing in five players in safety Nigel Warrior and corners D.J. Henderson, Tyler Byrd, Marquill Osborne and Baylen Buchanan. Warrior might be the crown jewel of that bunch, and he certainly will have a chance to play early, but adding a top-100 player in Byrd and a top-200 player in Osborne will be a real boon for the cornerback position, which will need some overhaul after the 2016 season. The only nitpick is that maybe they could’ve used another true safety, but with the depth they have at corner now, there will be flexibility for guys to move around.
