Tennessee lost one 2017 receiver when Tee Higgins opened up his commitment on Thursday evening, but they’ll have a shot to gain another on Valentine’s Day.

Knoxville Catholic’s Amari Rodgers, the son of former Tennessee quarterback Tee Martin, is making his announcement on Feb. 14 and has narrowed his choices down to Alabama, Florida State, Wake Forest, Clemson and Tennessee.

Not included on that list is Southern Cal, where Martin is currently the offensive coordinator. Rodgers was committed to USC from June-Dec. of 2015 before opening it back up.

The Vols would certainly love to add more help at wide receiver in the 2017 class, though they did add five in the 2016 cycle with Brandon Johnson, Jeff George, Corey Henderson, Marquez Callaway and Latrell Williams all signing on Wednesday.

The 5-10, 190-pound Rodgers, who also plays running back and defensive back, is ranked as the No. 139 player in the nation, according to 247Sports.
