The Tennessee Volunteers had one of the best closes on a recruiting class in recent memory when they sealed up the 2016 recruiting class on Wednesday afternoon. In fact, it’s probably the best finish to any class Butch Jones has ever signed at any university.

It started on Tuesday night when four-star cornerback Tyler Byrd flipped his commitment from Miami to Tennessee. Then four-star safety Nigel Warrior, three-star wide receiver Latrell Williams, and four-star JUCO defensive end Jonathan Kongbo all pledged their services to the Vols on Wednesday, giving Tennessee 21 signees in the 2016 class.

Those late additions and no defections from those already committed vaulted Tennessee’s overall recruiting ranking in the 2016 class to No. 14 in the country according to 247Sports, which was highly impressive considering the small size of the signing class.

While players such as QB Jarrett Guarantano, Kongbo, Byrd, and Warrior will undoubtedly steal the headlines for the class, there are a handful of players who aren’t getting their due in Tennessee’s 2016 recruiting class. Whether it’s a player who’s ranked lower than the rest or is highly-ranked but isn’t receiving nearly as much hype as they deserve, the Vols have several underrated players that signed in this class.

Here are the Vols’ five most underrated players in their 2016 signing class.
