The winter storms that wreaked havoc on many parts of the country over the weekend were enough to delay defensive tackle Chris Daniels’ official visit to Knoxville, but not enough to cancel it.
After his flight was delayed overnight, the four-star defensive tackle who recently de-committed from Oklahoma, took off Saturday morning on his way to UT, where we will give the Vols a look before making a final decision.

Here’s Daniels’ complete RTI profile with more information on him:
Defensive tackle – 2016 Class

Alabama, Ole Miss, Auburn, Oregon, Arizona State, Mississippi State
Status
Daniels is a later addition to Tennessee’s board after his de-commitment from Oklahoma in December. Texas and Texas A&M are likely the teams to beat at this point, but the fact that Daniels was willing to fight through some travel delays to visit Tennessee on the weekend of Jan. 23 shows that he’s at least legitimately interested in the Vols.

How He Fits
The Vols look fairly loaded on the defensive line in 2016, but with just one commitment (Alexis Johnson) on the defensive front coming into the final week of recruiting, Tennessee is looking at several other highly-rated prospects to add at least one more defensive lineman in the class. You can never have too many.
Daniels’ brings defensive end-like quickness to the interior of the defensive line, and once he gets a little more strength and works on his leverage, he could grow into a very good college football player.
