Introducing Tennessee’s 2016 Early Enrollees

Alexis Johnson

2015 stats at Fort Scott CC: 41 tackles, 8.5 sacks, 12.5 TFL

Defensive tackle Alexis Johnson was one of the most sought-after junior college prospects in the 2016 class for a reason. At 6-foot 4, 300 pounds, he has enough strength to drag multiple players fifteen yards after an interception (check the 15-second mark), but he also has extremely impressive footwork. He held offers from Alabama, Florida State, and Ole Miss among others, but chose to join an already stout Tennessee defensive line. His entry into the rotation at defensive tackle along with Kahlil McKenzie, Shy Tuttle, and Danny O’Brien will be welcomed with open arms. As with most big men entering Tennessee’s program, conditioning will be a challenge, but most signs point to Johnson seeing the field early and often in 2016.
