Running Backs
Once again, the best unit on the field for the Vols in a game this season was the running back position. Jalen Hurd was allegedly banged up heading into the game with an injured hamstring, but that didn’t stop him from posting one of his best games in his short career. Hurd’s 130 rushing yards on 24 attempts were the second most in his career in a single game, and he broke tackle after tackle like usual. Alvin Kamara added 11 carries for 53 yards, and both had touchdowns. Kamara also added 3 receptions for 19 yards. Even freshman John Kelly got work late and added a touchdown as well.
