Defensive Line
Once again, one of the better, if not best, performances from a defensive unit in this game. The defensive line was consistently in the backfield getting pressure on Northwestern’s quarterback and were responsible for two of Tennessee’s four sacks on the day. Derek Barnett led the team with 8 tackles, and Corey Vereen, Owen Williams, and Kahlil McKenzie turned in solid games as well. The line disrupted Northwestern’s passing game extremely well, and they helped limit the damage done by the Wildcats’ rushing attack.
