Overall

The start of the game was a little concerning as the Vols totaled just 19 yards of offense on 10 plays and had 50 penalty yards at one point in the first quarter. But once Tennessee stopped shooting themselves in the foot and found rhythm on offense, it was lights out for Northwestern. Tennessee dominated on offense and defense and the win was never in doubt once the Vols went up 17-6 right before the half. The Vols rolled to a 45-6 win for their 6th straight win to close out the season, and the victory marked Tennessee’s 2nd straight bowl victory. Tennessee’s 9 wins are their most since totaling 10 in 2007, and this win will undoubtedly hit the afterburners on the 2016 hype train for the Vols.
