5. Alvin Kamara as Han Solo
Han Solo is the “bad boy” of the Star Wars universe, the good guy with the scoundrel attitude. At first, we’re not sure how to feel about Han because he appears to be in it just for himself and cares only about what he can gain. But in the end, he turns out to be extremely vital to the Rebellion and becomes one of the most loved characters in the films.
Like Solo, Vol fans initially probably didn’t like running back Alvin Kamara because he was on Alabama’s roster in 2013. But Kamara transferred after that season, played in junior college in 2014, and joined the “good side,” the Vols, this season. And his impact was felt immediately in the run game, pass game and special teams.
Not only does Kamara have a similar story to Solo, but he has the attitude to match. Kamara is one of the more interesting personalities on this current Vols’ team, and he could easily be described as a sly scoundrel-type much like Han.
But I wouldn’t go calling Kamara a “scruffy-looking nerf herder” to his face.
