Option 4: Bring Tee Martin home
Tennessee fans have long been intrigued by bringing Tee Martin, the national-championship winning quarterback for the Vols, home to Knoxville after he’s bounced around in the coaching profession from New Mexico to Kentucky to USC. New full-time head coach Clay Helton at USC elected to retain Martin on his staff, but with all the turmoil there, Martin very well could seek other options.
When he first arrived at UT in 2012 Jones showed interest in Martin, but that opportunity didn’t work out. Would now be the time to bring Martin back? And would the fact that he has a son, four-star receiver Amari Rodgers, who is currently uncommitted and played at Knox Catholic, play into that decision? Feels like a bit of a reach, but it’s a scenario worth considering.
